(Mahima: Glory, majesty, might, power)
Our country is the land of majesty, power, might and glory, but, unfortunately we are in a state of infatuation with foreign cultures, foods, traditions and materialism. We are in such a state that we are not in a position to explain to our children how majestic our culture, knowledge, accomplishments or traditions are? Vedas means knowledge. What's in the Vedas, you cannot find anywhere in the world. We are in a situation where no one cares to read or to know the knowledge our ancient sages and seers have provided us in our scriptures. They have performed severe austerities, penances and shared their wisdom with us without selfishness and greed. Now Indians, all they care is 'what is in it for me and how do I get rich?' Sage Kaṇaḋa has explained very clearly about Aṇuśhāstram (nuclear physics) but we did not show any interest in it. Foreign scholars learned Sanskrit and translated our scriptures into their native languages and with that, helped their countries become powerful, published extensively about astronomy, nuclear physics and earned Nobel prizes. We show utmost respect for them. This is one of the reasons why I have worked 7 years to write ashtottaram on our motherland, to re-educate Indians, especially the younger generations in India and abroad not to fall for those infatuations, learn the past glory of our country and revive that glory.
Our seers and sages gave us in- depth knowledge about all the 64 branches of science. Knowledge from cooking to atoms to Āyurveda, they have imparted complete knowledge to us. Sādhus and Siddhis have shown miracles. We are the first to claim that the Sun is the centre of our solar system, and not the earth. We did this way before Copernicus claimed the same, centuries later.
Our land is 'Mahimānviṫa Bhūmi'.
