The Northeast Car Rally, which is now touring the states of the region to promote tourism and friendship, will wind up its 13-day long journey in Guwahati on April 22, officials said here on Wednesday.
The International Friendship Car Rally Association is organising the car rally with support of the Union Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, the North Eastern Council and the Arunachal Pradesh government.
IFCRA President Pem Sonam said that the rally was flagged-off by Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig B.D. Mishra (retd) in Itanagar on April 10 and would cover all the eight northeastern states.
"We are spreading friendship and love to all northeastern states through this car rally. Altogether nine cars participated in the rally. During the journey, people in each state welcomed the rally very heartily," Sonam told the media here before moving to neighbouring Mizoram. (AS/IANS)
