Forbes 2021: America’s Self-Made Women List, Includes 5 Indian Origin Women

The Forbes 2021 list of America's richest self-made women, which was released on August 5 this year, includes five women entrepreneurs who have their roots to India.

The list encompasses of 100 ranks of America's self made richest woman and successful business executives. Let us have a glance at the five women who have proved themselves across international boundaries.

Indra Nooyi

Indra Nooyi, a member serving the board of directors of Amazon, has spent almost 12 years in the top management of the company. She holds the pride of introducing eco-friendly products and environmentally feasible systems in the company.

Growing up in India she was an aspiring young girl. She got her MBA from Yale. She is the former Chief-executive of PepsiCo. In 2018, she joined the Indian Cricket Council Board, ICCB, as its first independent female director. She joined the board of directors in Amazon, in the year 2019.

Her net-worth totals to $290 million.

Reshma Shetty

Reshma Shetty, the co-founder of Gingo Bioworks, a synthetic bio-technology company uses data analytics and robots to speed up the process of synthesizing and discovering new organisms.

She lists 39th in the Forbes list and has a net-worth of $750 million. Her company extended its facilities in Boston for the covid research and played a major role in increasing testing amidst the worst spread of pandemic.

Neha Narkhede

Neha Narkhede, who lists 29th in the list of Forbes, is a billionaire and a technology entrepreneur and is the co-founder of Cofluent, a data streaming company. She has also co-created Apache and Kafka, which are open-source software platforms.

In addition, she was involved in the developing of LinkedIn. She is presently a board member of Cofluent.

Neerja Sethi

Neerja Sethi ranks 26th in the Forbes list and is the co-founder of Syntel, an IT consulting and outsourcing company, which she co-founded with her husband Bharat Desai in the year 1980.

She has done her bachelor's degree and MBA from Delhi University. She earned $510 million dollars for her stake when Syntel was bought by Atos SE for $3.4 billion.

Jayashree Ullal

Jayashree Ullal is an American business women and a billionaire. She ranks 16th in the Forbes list with a net-worth of $1.7 billion.

She is the president and CEO of Arista Networks, a cloud networking company. She is in the board of directors of Snowflake, a cloud computing firm that went public in the year 2020.

Ullal owns a total of 5% in Arista's stake.
