People paid homage and condemn racial homicides of Indian techies in US

Hyderabad, March 10, 2017: The account of hate crime in the US is expanding with rising atrocities of racism towards the South Asians; specifically Indians. After Vamshi Reddy, the latest fatality added on the account of racial homicides after Vamshi Reddy was Srinivas Kuchibhotla. Both of them were from Telangana and also shared similar profession as engineers.

Their (Srinivas and Vamshi) lives were sacrificed in the hands of a sudden upsurge of racial hatred. Condemning their deaths, a group of citizens, including the family members of the victim, held a candlelight vigil at KBR Park in Hyderabad, reported PTI.

Carrying candles and placards that read 'stop racism', 'stop hate crimes' and 'wake up India-Unite to save NRIs in US', the citizens, including the family members and relatives of Srinivas Kuchibhotla (32), the techie killed in a bar shooting in Kansas city last month, assembled near the park last evening.

The event was organized under the banner of Telangana NRI Parents Association and Telangana chapter of All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation.

The people assembled at the event paid homage to the deceased youths, Srinivas and Vamshi.

"We organized the protest to condemn the killings of Indians (in the US). Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) and Telangana Chief Minister (Chandrasekhar Rao) should intervene and ensure hate crimes against the Indian community stop," one of the participants said to PTI.
