Missile Man APJ Abdul Kalam’s First Death Anniversary: “Bharat lost its Ratna,” says PM Modi

July 27 marks the first death Anniversary of "Missile Man" of India, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar along with Venkaiah Naidu Minister of Urban Development and Information and Broadcasting today laid stone for building a memorial at Peikarumbu, his burial site in Rameswaram Island.

"Bharat lost its Ratna," lamented PM Narendra Modi. "We have gathered here for one of the greatest sons of the soil, Dr. APJ Abdul KalamHe continues to live along with us, said Venkaiah Naidu to financialexpress.com.

The Memorial site will have 3D models of Kalam. On the first death Anniversary, Defence Ministry organized a number of events of exhibitions in the memory of Missile man.

Events included an exhibition on his achievement of life and contribution towards the country. The Exhibition organized by the Defence Ministry was named as "Mission of Life".

It was a heavy loss for the country on 27th July 2015 to lose a gem type of person due to cardiac arrest. It is impossible to replace such a great scientist turned into politicians, great writer, and President of India.

Kalam got collapsed while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong. Kalam contributed to the welfare of nation till the last breath.

Kalam always believed, "Failure will never overtake me if my definition to succeed is strong enough." He loved children and fought for education related issues whenever he got chance. In 2010, a movie was directed by Nila Madhab Panda, "I am Kalam" showed how an underprivileged child got inspired by India's erstwhile President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and aspires to grow up to be a respectable person like him.
