Chicago seniors visit Vivekananda museum

CHICAGO, IL – Members of Bharatiya Senior Citizens (BSC) of Chicago visited Michigan State on May 7.

Bharatiya Senior Citizens is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization. As the name indicates, it is a community group for senior citizens for people of Indian origin. It caters to the needs of senior citizens by holding social events, get-togethers, and tours.

More than 300 senior citizens went by six buses to Michigan Ganges town where they went round Shrine Library, Swami Vivekananda Museum, Bookstore, Shrine Trail, Spiritual Retreat, etc.
What they liked most was the amazing Vivekananda museum.

After lunch, the elderly men and women one again got into the bus that took them to Holland, Michigan for a visit to the 'Tulips Garden'.

The seniors were lucky to be in time for 'Tulips Time, Holland's premier event. It is held during May 7-14 and they enjoyed watching magnificent tulips, for which Holland continues to receive top honors from America. The Tulips Garden was named the winner of the outstanding achievement award for floral displays showcasing the rich Dutch heritage.

BSC seniors visited Windmill Island and Dutch shops before gathering at Rana Regan center in Carol Stream, for a delicious dinner of khichdi, kadhi, bhakhri, potato shabji and butter milk. (IANS)
