Why AAP feels Khemka’s transfer is a bad signal for honest and upright officers

Raising the concern over the safety of whistle blowers, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party crticised the Haryana government's move to transfer IAS officer Ashok Khemka for the 46 time.

Arvind Kejriwal led party accused BJP of petty politics for using Khemka's transfer by the Congress' Hooda government as a election campaign issue during Haryana elections and then doing the same to protect mafia in the state.

AAP compared BJP government to Congress in matters of institutionalization of corruption, shielding mafia and victimizing whistleblowers and honest officers.

BJP portrayed Khemka as a national hero and anti corruption crusader for bringing Robert Vadra to book but did a 360 degree turn as soon as Khemka become inconvenient to BJP's vested interests, the AAP said.

"It's not the only instance where an honest and upright officer is being victimized, officers in BJP ruled states and under the central government have been meted out similar treatment in the past. Chief Vigilance Officer of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Mr. Sanjeev Chaturvedi was victimized by senior BJP functionaries." the party said.

Ashok Khemka was removed from the position of Secretary and Transport Commissioner by the Haryana government when he launched a drive against the powerful dumper lobby of Haryana.
