NEET Examination is organized every year for the students who aspire to study graduate medical courses like MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, and BDS in the prestigious medical colleges of India.

The NEET paper consists of three sections Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; with a total of 720 marks- of which 50% weight is given to biology, and rest 25% to each of physics and chemistry. Chemistry being one of the top scoring subjects, an aspirant can maximize the chances of getting good rank by dedicating additional time to this subject, during their preparation. First thing that you need to do is to go through the NCERT textbooks of XI and XII and while doing you have to know how to read between the lines. This will help you clear the basic concepts and cover every topic which is considered important from the NEET point of view. If you manage to gain good command over the NCERTs, then you can start reading some high-level books like Modern's ABC book of chemistry, Concise inorganic Chemistry by JD LEE etc. Avoid being selective. Read the topics included in the syllabus thoroughly and remember the formulas. Remembering the formulae will help to answer the question that are directly asked which in turn will save your time, and by doing so you can give your time to the questions that are

The main thing you need to keep in mind while preparing for such competitive exams is that you need to be accurate. This is because, for every correct answer you will score +4 against a negative marking of -1 for every wrong answer. So accuracy is a must to score good marks in your paper.

How to maintain accuracy:

The first thing you need to do is to cover your entire syllabus. Highlight the topics which seem to be little difficult for you. Set a target and try to complete that target daily. Say, you can fix the target like, you will solve n number of questions from this topic daily until and unless you are confident enough that you can answer every question is asked from that part. Analyze the previous year papers and note down the pattern. You can join a test series and attempt mock test regularly, watch videos and lectures on the internet. Plan your activities in such a way that you complete the entire syllabus a month or two before the date of exam. This will boost your confidence.

Practice the numerical from physical chemistry and derivations has to be practiced multiple times. Remember each and every point from inorganic part as most questions are directly asked from that part. In organic chemistry, understand the mechanism and practice them a number of times. Follow these steps and you will for sure get 130+ in Chemistry.

During the examination, avoid attempting the questions from the topics which you are not sure of and attempt these questions only when your total attempt count is low. Along with this, you have to be quick while answering the questions, as the duration of the examination is 180 minutes and you need to solve a total of 180 questions.
