Washington, October 4, 2017 : Good news coming from US! The US management has decided to resume the premium processing of H-1B work visas in all categories, months after it had been suspended temporarily.

Previously, the service had been suspended in April to deal with the surge of new petitions for work visas popular among Indian IT professionals. Consequently, the nation opened a few categories of the H-1B visas for quick processing.

According to the latest information from the US Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS), the service has been resumed for "all types of H-1B petitions."

What is H-1B visa?

The H-1B visa is a non-foreigner visa that permits US organizations to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require hypothetical or technical expertise. The visa is of primary importance to the innovation industry as they employ a huge number of employees each year utilizing it.

H-1B Visa Process

As mandated by the Congress, the USCIS can issue maximum 65,000 H-1B visas. Out of this number, 20,000 visas are accorded to those individuals who have earned masters' degree in STEM subjects from a US higher –education organization.

However, H-1B visas to a few categories like those in scholarly and research foundations are expected from these parameters.

The process involves a computer-generated 'lottery' system, to randomly select applications.

All You Need To Know About H-1B Premium Processing

  • As per guidelines, upon request of the premium processing service by a candidate, the USCIS ensures a 15-schedule day preparing time for an expense of $1,225. Typically, processing of an application takes between three to six months.
  • On the off chance that that time isn't met, the organization will discount the solicitor's premium processing fee and proceed with accelerated processing of applications.
  • The service is accessible only for pending petitions, not new submissions, since USCIS has already received enough petitions in April to meet the FY 2018 cap.

H-1B visa has been a critical piece of the India-US relationship. According to nominee for US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster, popular consensus prevails that H-1B should be revised to high quality employments.

The idea is currently "being heard in India as well in the United States"

The issue had also been discussed by Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in New York alongside the UN General Assembly in September.

The Trump organization is presently investigating the H-1B visa policy as it feels that the visa is being abused by organizations to supplant American laborers.
