Why wear a Burqa to prove Love towards your Religion?

NewsGram Desk

New Delhi, April 24, 2017: Recently, two veiled Muslim women from France and Belgium were expelled for refusing to remove their veils. On this, the 'European Court of Justice' issued a joint judgment stating-

"An internal rule of an undertaking which prohibits the visible wearing of any political, philosophical or religious sign does not constitute direct discrimination."

The court has taken a secularist stand against the male-dominated society and male-chauvinism. The verdict has renovated the damaged pillar on which European identity lies: "secular liberal democracy", which ensures availability of public places for all and hijacked by none.

It should be noticed that imposing of 'Burqa' and 'hijab' on women are not consequences of the holy Quran or early Islamic traditions but only a way to satisfy the misogynistic psychology. If women chose to wear the headscarves themselves, then it would have advocated for their free will and freedom but asking them to hide their faces behind the veils in the name of a particular religion is snatching away their Fundamental Rights.

When everyone votes for equality and women empowerment, then why has no one ever questioned the rigid and biased willfulness of any religion? Religion is considered to be the source of salvation but lately, it has become a business in the hands of few people who intentionally create hindrances and prejudices merely to serve their purposes.

Recently, Singer Sonu Nigam also slammed the use of loudspeakers in the religious ceremonies conducted at sacred places calling it as 'forced religiousness'. Similarly, the court has banned the use of any 'religious symbols' in the public spheres and has not curbed the religion of anyone in any way.

Saving the innocent lamb from being sacrificed at the altar, keeping a check on cow-slaughtering, ensuring the clean 'holy water bodies' or voicing out against the injustices done to any section of society is not anti-religiousness in any sense. The law creators only wish to control the unethical and immoral practices which are being carried under the banner of 'Religion'.
