New Delhi, November 10, 2016: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's masterstroke move doesn't really end with the scrapping of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. Intelligence agency informed that the new denominations of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 notes are made in such a manner that it will be difficult to replicate them.

According to TOI, a top government official without getting into the details, told, "External intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Intelligence Bureau and the DRI examined the features on the notes being secretly printed for the past six months. The official refused to reveal the number of security features on the notes but said they were difficult to forge."

The intelligence agency had also earlier informed the government and RBI that in Peshawar, Pakistan a dedicated mint is run to print fake Indian currency notes mostly in Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination, Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI, oversees the mint, and they use organised networks run by clients like LeT, Dawood Ibrahim, and other international criminal networks in order to push fake currency into India.

In a report to RBI and the government, the intelligence agencies claimed, a few years ago that the mint in Pakistan had achieved "zero-error counterfeit capability" in fake Indian currency printing.

According to an estimate, "Rs 70 crore worth FICN is pushed every year by Pakistan into the Indian economy, which was used as terror fund and to spearhead disturbances."
