Kolkata: Sanjeev Khanna, the former husband of Indrani Mukherjee who has been taken into custody on charges of killing Sheena Bora, was arrested by Mumbai Police here on Wednesday, an official said. Khanna was arrested from Alipore area after being grilled for a few hours by Mumbai Police. The arrest comes a day after Indrani, the wife of former media honcho Peter Mukherjea, was nabbed from Mumbai's suburban Khar.
"Mumbai Police sought our assistance in locating Khanna and after grilling him for a few hours, they arrested him in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case," a Kolkata police officer said. Khanna was brought to the Alipore police station. He will be presented before a city court on Thursday where Mumbai Police will seek his transit remand.
Indrani has been arrested on charges of killing Sheena in 2012 and disposing off her body. Mukherjea has claimed that Sheena was his step-daughter and had an affair with his son Rahul. "Sheena was in a relationship with my son, which Indrani disapproved of," he said.
