Prologue
After fighting with the infamous traffic of Delhi, my cab finally halted few meters before the second gate entrance of Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium. I stepped out of the cab and paved my way towards the entrance. There, I saw my friend (the same PR guy who bestowed his courtesy with inviting me to the show) dooning a super cool casuals. I complimented him and foolishly asked the reason for his attire as I've always seen him following a strict code of formals. He answered my query with a bewildered look on his face and a shrug of the shoulders, "It's fashion show dude!". I shrouded my embarrassment of being naive with a smile and followed him quietly to the venue. When I entered the venue, what met my eyes and brain was an utter cultural shock. For a moment, I thought that I had entered into a different world and a different paradigm. Ladies and Gentlemen, I was witnessing my first-hand account with the mysterious world of Fashion.
The last day at Amazon India Fashion Week 2017 was captivated with the charismatic vigor of the youth. Occasion? The spectacle of Portfolio '17 organized by Pearl Academy in collaboration with Amazon India Fashion Week.
Till the time I reached the auditorium where the main event was being held, I had no clue that I would be testifying the unseen part of fashion which very few of us know about because most of us have stereotyped it.
The most eminent part of the event was the management, which to my surprise, was thoroughly looked after by the students and the faculty members of the Pearl Academy. From designers to models and even the volunteers, all of them came from the academy to support and celebrate their annual extravaganza where they are provided a platform to showcase their potential.
I took out my diary and pen while getting comfortable on a seat which I managed to acquire after a long tussle with my fellow potent occupants. With the notebook gripped on my left hand, pen wrangled between my fingers, and eyes focused on the avenue of the ramp, I was all set to document my debut experience with the world of fashion. Somewhere back in my mind, a fine tune of "Jalwa" from the movie "Fashion" was playing. The moment was like the feeling of deja-vu, which in reality was the flashes of ramp-walk scenes which I remembered from the movie. So finally, the lights got dim, spotlights turned on, and the show began.

From beginning till the end of the show, I was awe-struck and confused. Awe-struck with the class apart display of innovation, creativity, confidence, and the boldness from the end of both designers and models. Confused because of the fables I used to hear about the fashion show and models, which I find totally deceptive. I got so engrossed in the show that not a single word was scribbled out on the notebook, which I regretted later. After all, I had to produce something to my editor. Finally, my PR mate came my rescue and provided me with a press release to which I took the reference and wrote rest of the part of the story. Before ending this prologue, I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to the Pearl Academy for nurturing a generation of fashionistas who would bring about a revolution in the industry with their talent, courage, and conviction. Kudos!
